Concerning hint leaked that Brad Marchand’s injury is way worse than first reported

Oh…

The Bruins came out on top with a 2-1 win over the Florida Panthers in Game 5 of the second round series and now it shifts back to Boston. The Bruins have been without captain Brad Marchand for the past two contests after receiving a sucker punch from Panthers forward Sam Bennett in Game 3.

The scary word “concussion” has been thrown around, and after the game on Tuesday, when teammate Charlie Coyle spoke to media, he said something that got fans and pundits wondering if Marchand’s injury is more serious than we could ever imagine.

Coyle explained that the Bruins kept Marchand’s sweater hanging in his stall during the game in Miami.

“His leadership, even when he’s not dressed — he’s still in here, he’s still leading. And he does what he can to help the team in whatever way possible.”

Coyle was given an alternate “A” with Marchand out, joining David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy in that role.

As soon as the quote hit social media, fans immediately started wondering what it could mean about Marchand’s injury, with some even bothered by the Bruins’ gesture, saying that the captain ‘isn’t dead.”

The Bruins can only keep going without Marchand for now, as another update is likely to come ahead of Friday night for Game 6 in Boston.

The 36-year-old leader has appeared in 10 playoff games for the Bruins this year, posting three goals, 10 points, and a plus-2 rating. While nothing has been confirmed on his injury and how long it could keep him away from action, the Bruins need to keep their season alive and push that series in 7, with the chance to move on to the Eastern conference finals and get Marchand back at some point.
