Conflicting reports on Evander Kane trade status
Everything is complicated with this guy, it seems...

Having served a 21-game suspension for using a fake COVID-19 vaccination card, Evander Kane is now spending time in the AHL and hoping to make a return to the NHL. Though many doubt it will be with the San Jose Sharks. You know why: besides the many issues in his finances and personal life, they’ve been many reports of a rift between the forward and his Sharks’ teammates, as fans get the sense he is not welcomed back in the dressing room.
And while it’s hard to believe that a rival club could want to acquire Kane, there are some rumours out there saying that he is getting interest. Even more so: Kevin Allen observed several NHL teams sent scouts to follow Kane, and amongst them the Red Wings, though he doubts he is the type of player Detroit needs given his age and expensive contract.
The Sharks are also struggling with Kane’s $7-million annual salary-cap hit through 2024-25 and three-team trade clause, which seemingly make him untradeable at the moment.
Besides the Red Wings, the Boston Bruins, Nashville Predators, Pittsburgh Penguins, Toronto Maple Leafs and Dallas Stars also had scouts in attendance during Kane’s debut with the Barracudas.
And so, some believe he could see his deal getting bought out by the Sharks and if a team later on wants to sign him to a less risky deal, that could happen. Some insiders believe Kane could sit out the rest of the season in the AHL, and see his contract bought out in the summer in order to be a free agent in July.
So many reports out there - it is no different than the ones about his personal life.
It’s going to be a roller-coaster when it comes to his trade rumours as well it seems.
