Just a couple of days after being selected first overall at the 2023 NHL Draft by the Blackhawks, Connor Bedard was in Chicago at the team’s prospect development camp this week. When the camp closed on Thursday, Bedard met with media and answered many questions about hockey, his future and his new found love for Chicago.

However, one question came about contracts and sponsors, probably seeing that Bedard signed a lucrative deal with Sherwood Hockey. Bedard was asked about the corporate sponsorship he signed with hometown Vancouver athletic apparel brand lululemon, and the superstar was tight-lipped.

Not sure if reporters were attempting to get him to focus on local sponsors in Chicago, but Bedard didn’t say much about using his ascending profile for additional potential deals, per the Hockey News.

“I don’t really know how to answer that,” he said “I’m not sure what my agent is thinking or anything.”

Bedard often repeats how he is just a 17-year-old kid. He will turn 8 on July 17. It is so refreshing to see how humble the star player is, and I am sure, he will signs some deals in Chicago in the near future.

“I’m still a 17-year-old kid, but there are possibilities that come along with noise and attention and stuff. And I’m aware of that, but you know in the room, I’m just one of the guys.”

Let's focus how amazing Bedard will be as the face of the NHL.
