And his Patrick Kane inspired celly!

Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks are hosting the Boston Bruins this evening and it was the youngster who almost blew the lid off of Chicago's United Center early on.

With the game scoreless in the first period, Bedard appeared to put the Blackhawks up 1-0 with a sick snipe followed by an even more sick goal celebration. Check out Bedard burying one past Bruins netminder Jeremy Swayman and then channeling Blackhawks legend Patrick Kane for a sick celly:

I mean... just watch this celly again:

Unfortunately for Bedard and the Blackhawks the goal was called back after a Coach's Challenge revealed that the play was off-side at the Bruins' blue-line. No goal.

Spittin' Chiclets host Ryan Whitney though isn't one to just let things go. The Whitdog went on Twitter to rant a bit about the NHL's silly Coach's Challenge play.

Check it out:

I've got to agree. If the play is so close at the line and the resulting goal has nothing to do with the zone entry, I don't see why we should be reviewing tape and making definitive calls this way. It's basically a 'Get Out of Jail Free' card for Coach's to use once a game. If you think a play was close at the line, call for a challenge and hope you get it right. If you don't, you've got to kill a two minute minor but that's the cost of doing business these days.

Thoughts? Is Whitney on the money here?
