Connor Bedard shares an update on his health at the All-Star Game.
The Chicago Blackhawks star forward wasn't on the ice, but he did take questions during the NHL All-Star Game.
It is no doubt a bittersweet weekend for Chicago Blackhawks star forward Connor Bedard who is on hand for his first ever All-Star Game, entirely unable to participate in the game itself.
In spite of the fact that an injury has forced him, for the most part, to sit on the sidelines this weekend, Bedard has done his best to play his role and entertain the fans in attendance for the big weekend.
Bedard made his presence known on Saturday when he briefly joined the broadcast in spite of the fact that he cannot play, and it was during that segment that Bedard fielded some questions regarding his return to the ice this season. The young superstar admitted that he still does not have a specific date for that return, but sounded extremely optimistic overall.
"No specific date," admitted Bedard. "I just gotta see how it's looking but I feel good and I feel ready."
Bedard went on to add that if he were in control of the situation he would already be playing.
"If it were up to me I would have been back," said Bedard with a laugh. "But you gotta make sure it's healed and make sure you're not risking anything."
It certainly sounds like Bedard anticipates his return coming sooner rather than later.
