Connor Clifton hit with multi-game suspension on Saturday.
The NHL's Department of Player Safety hands down another early suspension for a head shot this season.
The Buffalo Sabres will be without one of their veteran defensemen for the next few games.
On Saturday, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety came down on Sabres defenseman Connor Clifton for a dangerous hit he delivered to the head of New Jersey Devils captain Nico Hischier. The league has announced that Clifton will be suspended for the next two games, a decision he is unlikely to appeal.
Clifton delivered the hit during Friday night's game between the Sabres and Devils, catching Hischier up high with a blindside hit that temporarily knocked the Devils forward out of the game.

Update: Clifton has taken full responsibility for the hit and will in fact not be appealing the decision.
