The Edmonton Oilers are riding high after a thrilling 4-3 win in Game 1 against the Anaheim Ducks, but the victory came at a cost.

The Oilers lost veteran forward Adam Henrique to injury early in the game and it looks like he'll be absent from the lineup in Game 2.

“He got tied up there in front of the net, and obviously wasn’t eligible to come back,” said Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch after last night's game. “We’ll find out tomorrow exactly how long that injury is.

“It’s going to be a big hole missing Rico. He’s been so good on our special teams, and we’re going to have to have some other guys step up if we are to lose him.”

The Oilers will have a couple of options to fill Henrique's spot as their fourth-line centre in Josh Samanski and Curtis Lazar.

Samanski is the most likely to draw back into the lineup, considering the time he spent with Colton Dach and Trent Frederic at different points this season.

While Knoblauch's post-game comments generated most of the attention on social media last night, a couple snide remarks from Oilers goaltender Connor Ingram are making the rounds today. When asked about the atmosphere at Rogers Place in Edmonton last night, Ingram took a shot at his former team and their... ahem... less than adequate facility.

Ingram, of course, played previously for the Arizona Coyotes during their two year residence at the 4,600 seat capacity Mullet Arena on Arizona State University's campus. Comparing a raucous crowd of 18,634 in Rogers Place with 4,600 lukewarm fans in the Arizona desert created a stark contrast for Ingram.

“It was awesome. I mean the bulk of my career I played out of Mullett Arena, so to walk out that tunnel today, it’s a different animal," Ingram said after last night's game.

Shots fired...

The Coyotes have been dead and buried for two years now and they're still taking shots from NHLers.
