The Edmonton Oilers are gearing up to face the Arizona Coyotes tonight at Rogers Place in Edmonton, a matchup that the contending Oilers should easily win on paper.
However, Edmonton has been confirmed to be without the most critical part of their lineup in superstar captain Connor McDavid, who won't be hitting the ice tonight.
I feel good. I feel good," McDavid told assembled media in Edmonton. "Probably won't got tonight, but I feel good," said McDavid after his team's morning skate.
"I never want to miss games, I really don't. It's frustrating," McDavid said. "At the end of the day we're after bigger things here. Everyone being healthy is priority No. 1."
When asked if his ailment was something new or something that had been lingering, he replied, "Probably a little of both."
