Sign that goalie! Watch the sequence below:
On Wednesday night, some amateur players and some passionate fans attended a beer league game in Newmarket, ON, just outside of Toronto and came to find out that Edmonton Oilers superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl were also taking part in the contest.
However, things did not go as anyone would have anticipated.
Not only they were shockingly down 4-0 after the first period, but the Oilers’ captain was absolutely robbed by the rival goalie. Who, let us remind you, is perhaps a plumber who is having fun as a beer league netminder.
McDavid attempted to fool him when he rushed the net, but the goalie was ready and made this impressive save. In the video, you can see that McDavid was stopped more than three times, with the last save an absolute highlight reel!
Watch below:
McDavid and Draisaitl ended up losing 6-2 and were held scoreless… But apparently, they had a blast. I guess that’s what matters. Fans enjoyed watching the hometown boy, even though he did not manage to score, and even when he was robbed by the town's amateur netminder.
