More details here:
Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson is red hot. He may be the hottest player on the planet right now, putting up 22 goals in his last 24 games, including last night’s hat trick against the Anaheim Ducks.
Dom Luszczyszyn of The Athletic put together some predictions for the league’s awards and Robertson is atop the Hart Trophy candidates with his explosive start to the season. Luszczyszyn compares Robertson to none other than Edmonton Oilers’ Connor McDavid, and there is no doubt the young Stars forward is schooling the captain.
The reporter believes McDavid has been dealt some bad luck offensively, but Robertson doesn’t leave it up to chance. The season is still somewhat young, we’re not saying Robertson will beat McDavid after the full calendar, but you have to admit he is on a good pace.
For now, Luszczyszyn still ranks McDavid first in the Art Ross Trophy standings, the awards given to whomever leads the National Hockey League in scoring points at the end of the regular season. Robertson is put eighth.
But for now, he is in a roll. There is even a comparison of the two players’ first 152 NHL games, and here again, Robertson schools McDavid.
Some will argue that Robertson is not in McDavid’s tier, but you have to admit he looks pretty good.
