The Edmonton Oilers have secured their man.

On Monday, Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid took to social media to officially announce himself that he would be remaining in Edmonton, taking to social media to confirm the news that he wasn't going anywhere.

Update: This will be a 2 year deal at an incredible average annual value of only $12.5 million. A steal for the Edmonton Oilers.

According to ESPN's Greg Wyshynski, McDavid may have only made his final decision this morning with the contract coming together in just a few hours after he agreed to re-sign.

A huge development for the Edmonton Oilers especially when you consider that there had been growing concerns over whether or not McDavid would resign at all as we drew closer and closer to the 2025-26 National Hockey League regular season.

McDavid is not only the most important player on the Edmonton Oilers roster but arguably the most important player on any roster across the entire league. He is considered by most to be the NHL's most singularly dominant player and after his 5th consecutive 100+ point season last season it would be hard to argue with that fact.

Despite only appearing in 67 games all of last season, McDavid still recorded 26 goals and 74 assists for a nice round 100 points, averaging just under 1.5 points per game across the entire season.
