Connor McDavid’s wife Lauren with very telling story on Instagram during Game 3

We all know which team Lauren Kyle McDavid is rooting for in the Stanley Cup Final. Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid’s wife posted a very telling story of the showdown we are seeing in this series, taking a shot at the Florida Panthers on her Instagram during Game 3.

You may remember how things heated up in the final period of Game 3, won 6-1 by the Panthers, which also featured a staggering 140 penalty minutes.

Lauren Kyle’s post, which went online while Game 3 was still going on, featured a screenshot of an Internet search result for the Alberta Rat Control Program — an obvious reference to the tradition of Panthers fans throwing plastic versions of the pest onto the ice after home playoff wins.

The screenshot reads the “Alberta Rat Control Program, established in 1950, has been instrumental in keeping the province essentially rat-free.”

The Panthers have been able to count on Sam Bennett for years, and he’s been called a rat more than once, but we also how another one was added to Florida’s roster when the team acquired Brad Marchand from the Boston Bruins at the last deadline. For much of his career, Marchand has been to referred to as Rat, and you know how much he loves it.

And so I doubt Lauren Kyle McDavid’s post hurt the Panthers’ feelings as they a 2-1 series lead on Monday night. Game 4 is set for Thursday night at 8 p.m. before the series shifts back up north to Edmonton for Game 5 on Saturday night.
