There was a strange rumor out of Vancouver over the week-end, and one that was given a little more credence due to the major rash of injures the Canucks have suffered recently.

According to the rumor controversial forward Alex Burrows had reportedly agreed to waive his no trade clause prior to the trade deadline, despite having one more year left on his current contract with the Canucks after this season.

Now a report from Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province is suggesting that rumor may in fact be false, and Kuzma is now reporting that Burrows told him he has not agreed to waive his no trade and furthermore he wishes to remain in Vancouver for the duration of his contract.

One has to wonder how much interest Burrows could attract on the open market, with 15 points in 53 games this season, a $4.5 million dollar cap hit that carries over for one more season, and a history in the National Hockey League that could cause some GMs to hesitate for fear of disturbing locker room chemistry.
