This is what it is: Brady Tkachuk is a good brother. The spotlight has been on the Tkachuk brother as Matthew scored his first career playoff hat trick in a 9-6 Calgary Flames win over the Edmonton Oilers in Game 1, and Brady is cheering him on from the stands.

Prior to Game 1 on Wednesday, Brady was pictured walking up the Saddledome stairs sporting a natural hat trick of beers, with one in his hand and one in each back pocket.

Every time the camera’s on him, Brady is rooting for his brother though he does not wear Flames gear. He wants to maintain his loyalty to his team, the Ottawa Senators. He wears instead creative shirts he put together to support his brother.

This is amazing to see. A strong family bond that should move people. However instead, they get mad, criticizing Brady drinking beer (at a hockey game!) and rooting for another team than the one he captains. How stupid is that.
For days now the Tkachuk have been trending and finally some fans are taking a stand to defend Brady, stating the obvious: he is being a good brother!

Leave him alone. Let him cheer on his best friend. Matthew’s teammates all say he would do the same for Brady.

“We’ve actually been talking about that, after the shenanigans I’ve been pulling,” Brady told ESPN . “I don’t think he’d match all the stuff, but I think he’d be as excited as I’ve been.”

Some reporters have been irked by Brady’s antics in the stands for his brother, as if he was expected to never leave the house because the Senators didn’t clinch a playoff spot. “The captain of another NHL team being Matthew Tkachuk’s super fan boy is just so, so weird to me,” one said.

Here are some fans who have had enough and cannot wait to see Brady in the stands tonight to cheer on Matthew as the Oilers come back to the Saddledome for Game 2:

Tim and Friends of Sportsnet asked where Ottawa Senators fans stood when it comes to Brady encouraging his brother, and there are a lot of weird answers out there…

Come on, love family love folks!
