Corey Perry announces his plans for retirement to the media today
Is this his last run? Or does he have more gas left in the tank?
With a 5th Stanley Cup Final appearance in his career on tap, Corey Perry isn't thinking about the future.
Well... that's not entirely true, but the veteran forward certainly isn't thinking about retirement in his near future.
When meeting with the media today the 40 year old Perry confirmed that he won't be retiring this upcoming offseason and that he plans on playing during the 2025-26 NHL season.
From NHL insider Chris Johnston:
And why wouldn't he?
Perry has been a productive player for the Oilers the past season and a half and nearly reached the 20 goal mark this season for the first time in nearly a decade. It's clear that he's got more to give. His one year, $1.15 million contract with the Oilers is up this upcoming offseason, but I'd bet my last dollar that he makes a return to the team in 2025-26, regardless of how this year's Cup Final shakes down.
