Poor guy... Full story below:
A week ago today, the Los Angeles Kings announced that forward Corey Perry had left the team to deal with a family matter. The veteran forward was back days later, and played against the Edmonton Oilers over the weekend, and again on Monday when the Kings faced the Dallas Stars.
However on Wednesday, Los Angeles once again announced that Perry has left the team, and will not be in the lineup tonight when they host the Vegas Golden Knights.
Unfortunately for Perry, he had to return home to attend to the same personal matter that caused his previous absence.
A family member of Perry's is currently ill, and last week, he missed a couple of games and unfortunately this latest roster update means things aren't getting better for the Perry family.
The team has said that, for now, he'll be out of the lineup indefinitely.
After missing the first few weeks of the 2025-26 season, due to a preseason knee injury, Perry, 40, has played in 37 games with the Kings, recording 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points.
Perry signed a one-year deal, with a cap hit of $3.5 million, with the Kings after spending the last couple of seasons with the Edmonton Oilers.
The Kings (19-16-10) sit fifth in the Pacific Division, just a point out of the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
