Corey Perry sends clear message to haters ahead of another NHL season

Corey Perry has been one of the most enduring figures in the NHL over the past two decades, and it appears the veteran forward is not ready to walk away just yet.

In a recent interview with NHL.com Perry reportedly expressed that he still finds joy in the game and feels physically capable of continuing his career with the Los Angeles Kings.

“I feel great,” Perry said. “I’m still having fun and still feel young. And he’s a big part of that.”

The 41-year-old winger has bounced around the league in recent seasons, suiting up for multiple contenders as a depth piece with playoff experience. His willingness to embrace a reduced role while still contributing meaningful minutes has made him a sought-after addition for teams chasing the Stanley Cup.

Perry's career resume speaks for itself. A former Hart Trophy winner, Stanley Cup champion, and Olympic gold medalist, he has compiled over 1,200 NHL games and remains one of the most decorated active players in the sport.

Despite his age, Perry has consistently shown he can still bring value in the right situation. His net-front presence, physicality, and knack for timely goals have kept him relevant well past the point where most forwards begin to fade.

And he’s now focused on proving the haters wrong and feeling motivated by his son and his energy.

“This is what it’s all about: sharing memories. I’m just glad that he loves it just as much as I do. It helps motivate you when you’re doing all those offseason workouts, things like that. It keeps you going.

“It helps keep you hungry.”

The ultimate goal, besides proving a lot of people wrong, is winning another Stanley Cup with his son Griffin alongside.
