Coyotes captain Shane Doan reveals how he learned he was being cut by his team.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the Arizona Coyotes decision to cut captain Shane Doan on Monday, and this likely will only add to that controversy.

Doan has now revealed how he learned that he was not going to be re-signed by the Coyotes, and he admitted that he was completely caught of guard.

"Chayka called me, asked to have a meeting, we sat down and I realized where he was going," said Doan as per independent reporter Brennan Klak I left quickly, I was surprised."

The Coyotes fan base has seemingly had a very negative response to the decision, although it may be a case of the more vocal fans being the ones who view this a negative. Surely these comments from the most respected player in franchise history won't go over well with those already frustrated fans.
