The 24 year-old gets a new deal after rejecting his qualifying offer
According to NHL insider Eliotte Friedman, the Arizona Coyotes have avoided an arbitration hearing by signing forward Jordan Martinook to a new two year deal.
At 24 years old, Martinook spent the last two seasons with the Coyotes and had two 20+ point seasons. Coyotes GM John Chayka and the team's new management group extended the RFA a qualifying offer last month but the player decided to file for arbitration. The good news is that arbitration has been avoided and a player who can potentially have a breakout season for the 'Yotes is locked in for two more years.
