Are they actually going to keep him now!?
It's been a week and a half since the Arizona Coyotes made headlines around the NHL when they announced that they would scratch defenseman Jakob Chychrun for their game against the St. Louis Blues for what they called "trade related reasons."
The Coyotes dropped that game to the Blues, but that was hardly the story last weekend. The bigger news was that the Coyotes and the Los Angeles Kings were reportedly close to a deal for Chychrun, but that they couldn't quite come to terms. In the 10 days now that have passed, insiders around the hockey world have been trying to piece together the particulars of a deal, but still nothing has been announced and Chychrun has yet to hit the ice for the Coyotes.
Well... today that changed. Kinda...
Chrychrun reportedly hit the ice with the Coyotes this afternoon for practice.

So... what gives?
Is Chychrun sticking with the Coyotes?
I mean, head coach Andre Tourigny made the announcement that Chychrun would remain a healthy scratch "until something happens."
Check it out:
So that sounds to me like Chychrun is officially done with the Coyotes and won't suit up again in the NHL until he's on a new team. Yet he's practicing with the team? Makes no sense...
Tourigny is now saying that Chychrun may play later this week against the Calgary Flames.
Are you kidding me?!?!
Is the guy staying with the Coyotes or not? All we can really do at this point is watch and wait.
It's clear that Chychrun has his suitors, whether it's the Kings or others, so it seems like it's only a matter of time until he gets back onto NHL ice. Personally, I think that LA would be a great fit, but there are rumors that he could be heading to a Canadian market like Toronto or Edmonton.
Again... we wait. But in the meantime, we might actually get to see Chychrun suit up for the Coyotes at least once more.
