Coyotes players flip out at the state of the arena in Arizona!

Latest rumblings in the desert, and they don’t sound good…

The new Arizona Coyotes’ arena has been at the center of controversy since the very start. Not only their new 5,000 seat capacity arena in Tempe, Arizona will be the smallest in NHL history, but there was also controversy whether or not Arizona State University would allow the Arizona Coyotes to put their Kachina logo at center ice of the Mullett Arena. Finally, both logos shared center ice, but more problems have emerged now that players are being introduced to the arena.

That’s right: Nick Kypreos has reported that the arena and its setup is worse than what players expected.

“There are some real rumblings about the boys not being happy down there. Like really upsetting… Even worse (than they were expecting)”

On top of that, as you may know, the Coyotes are forced to play their first 20 regular season games on the road and have not and will not play any preseason contests at the small arena.

We cannot expected the Coyotes to do much better than last year when they had the worst start in its history last season with a 5-17-2 record, collecting just 12 points.

The Mullett Arena might be brand new, but players aren’t impressed, and from what we get from Kypreos, players are really upset with it… This does not bode well.

The ownership has stated that it will be a sellout for every home game: let’s hope this gets players excited about coming home to the Mullett Arena…
