Another bizarre series of lineup changes from Craig Berube.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have been a bit of a mess this season and these types of decisions from their head coach certainly aren't helping when it comes to the confusion.
On Saturday, Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube trotted out his players for warm ups ahead of a clash against former Maple Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas and his Pittsburgh Penguins. During those warm ups many were quick to notice some significant lineup changes, including the bizarre decision to slot veteran forward Max Domi on the team's top line despite Domi having been made a healthy scratch the previous game due to his poor performances this season.
Additionally, Maple Leafs forward Nick Robertson has been demoted back down to the 4th line, no doubt a frustrating situation for a forward that has never been fully capable of carving out a consistent spot for himself in this team's lineup.
Here is a look at the full lineup:
Knies - Matthews - Domi
Cowan - Tavares - Nylander
Joshua - Roy - McMann
Lorentz - Laughton - Robertson
Rielly - Ekman-Larsson
McCabe - Stecher
Mermis - Myers
Hildeby
And here is a look at the Penguins lineup:
Hayes-Crosby-Rust
Novak-Malkin-Mantha
Heinen-Kindel-Koivunen
Koppanen-Lizotte-Dewar
Wotherspoon-Karlsson
Shea-Letang
Graves-Dumba
Silovs
