The Toronto Maple Leafs picked up their biggest win of the season on Friday night when they defeated the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers with a 2-0 victory on the road, a victory that will force a final and deciding Game 7 on Sunday.

It was a monumental victory for the Maple Leafs, one that kept their season alive, but it was a victory that was tainted by some serious injury concerns following the conclusion of the game. During the course of the game, Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies suffered an injury to his hip area when an attempt at delivering a hit on Panthers defenseman Niko Mikkola went terribly wrong.

Here is a look at video of that collision:

Knies was in obvious pain on the bench following the incident and would skip several shifts before eventually returning after the intermission for the following period. When Knies hit the ice however he was once again in obvious discomfort and would eventually be limited to just 13 minutes of ice time, by far his lowest total of the series so far.

There are huge concerns regarding Knies' availability for Game 7 on Sunday and the comments from Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube following the conclusion of that game didn't inspire much confidence. Berube is usually quick to tell reporters when a player is going to be fine, but this time around the Leafs bench boss had no answers to give.

"We don't know right now," said Berube when asked about what kind of injury Knies was dealing with.

Berube was then pressed on Knies' availability for Sunday and again the Maple Leafs head coach had no definitive answers to give.

"I wouldn't know that right now," said Berube. "He's dealing with something here that happened and we've got to look at him and see how he's doing tomorrow. We'll see how he is."
