Craig Conroy makes his first move as Flames' GM

This just in, the Calgary Flames have re-signed goaltender Oscar Dansk to a one year, AHL/NHL contract for the 2023-24 season.
Incidentally, this signing represents Craig Conroy's first move as GM of the Flames. And it's the first of what are sure to be many moves from Conroy this offseason.
The Flames have some serious issues to sort out this offseason. Conroy will be tasked with deciding the team's future with the likes of Mikael Backlund, Elias Lindholm, Tyler Toffoli, Noah Hanifin, Chris Tanev and Nikita Zadorov... oh ya... and he needs to find a new head coach, as well.
Suffice it to say that I think Dansk's signing might be the easiest negotiation that Conroy has this offseason.

The Calgary Flames announced today that they have re-signed goaltender Oscar Dansk to a one-year, two-way contract with an AAV of $775,000.
- Calgary FlamesDansk backstopped the Flames AHL affiliate Calgary Wranglers in 17 games, going 8-6-2 with a .905 save percentage and a 2.75 GAA. Dansk was named the team's winner of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year Award for his outstanding contributions to the Calgary community during the 2022-23 season. The former Columbus Blue Jackets second-round pick has appeared in six NHL games with the Vegas Golden Knights, going 4-1-0.
Look for the 29 year old to backup AHL starter Dustin Wolf this upcoming season.
Or... if Conroy and the Flames want to get really bold, they can promote Wolf to the NHL to see what he's made of. Sure, the Flames have Jacob Markstrom and Dan Vladar at the #1A and #1B position, but if recent years have taught us anything it's that you can't have too many quality goaltenders in your arsenal. The 22 year old Wolf has been a revelation since turning pro in 2021. He put up a remarkable 2.09 and .932 save percentage in 55 games with the AHL Calgary Wranglers in 2022-23 and looks poised to be a quality NHL calibre netminder for years to come. Should he require more seasoning in the AHL, the veteran Dansk will be there to back him up.
