As is often the case with anything involving Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, there is already a great deal of controversy around this incident.

Crosby went after New York Rangers captain Ryan McDonagh after what was a questionable hit from Mcdonagh to 24-year-old Penguins foward Conor Sheary, and it's Crosby's reaction that is causing all the controversy.

While clearly members of the Penguins fan base are thrilled to see their captain coming to the defense of one of his young linemates, fans on the other side are outraged that Crosby was allowed to take such liberties with a high-profile player like McDonagh and got off with a slap on the wrist.

Crosby was awarded a 2 minute penalty on the play, while McDonagh was given a five minute major for boarding, however many feel that Crosby should have been given an instigator penalty for his attack on McDonagh.

You can watch the video and judge for yourselves.
