Crosby finally explains why he’s so secretive about his personal life!

In Vegas for tonight’s NHL awards, Pittsburgh Penguins Sidney Crosby met with The Hockey News’ Matt Larkin to answer some fun questions about the 2018-19 season.

And on top of that, Larkin had the balls to ask the star player about his personal life and why it was so important for him to remain so private.

Here is what Crosby had to say about that, finally giving some answers to why fans don’t know much about his girlfriend and personal life:

“I’ve always been that way. When I was young and growing up, there was so much attention, and everything was magnified, and just having certain things to yourself was nice. I take a lot of pride in being professional and taking what I do seriously. As far as personal stuff, I’m not on social media and stuff like that, like other guys would be. But that’s me. I think people respect that. Everyone does things differently. That’s just something I’ve felt comfortable with. Being a hockey player, you automatically think, “There are certain things that are going to be more known about you,” but it’s nice to have that (privacy) for sure.”

The interview ended on that note. Maybe Sid thought he revealed too much… I guess we can understand that as the pending first overall pick in 2005, Crosby got way more attention than any teenager. It probably turned him off social media and being in the spotlight...

Who knows? It might also be one of his other weird superstitions to remain secretive?!
