Most people will find you lucky if you managed to play alongside Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby during your career. After all, he is one of the best hockey players on the planet.

However Joe Vitale revealed some weird anecdote about the Penguins’ captain that will make you feel relieved you don’t have to deal with him every day as a teammate.

Vitale was selected in the seventh round, 195th overall by the Penguins back in the 2005 NHL entry draft, the same year Crosby was picked first overall - and ended up playing with Sid for four seasons.

On Tuesday, Vitale, who ended his NHL career with the Arizona Coyotes back in 2016, sat sown with another former teammate Paul Bissonnette to talk about some weird situations he experienced with Crosby.

On the air with the Spittin’ Chiclets, Vitale revealed how crazy Crosby is with superstitions. Before one contest, Crosby heard a song that Vitale had put on the speakers and mentioned that it was a great song that marked a trip to Italy he had previously went on. Vitale sat as Crosby recalled the trip and what happened while talking about the song.

That night, Crosby scored a few goals and the Penguins won the game. Prior to the next contest, Crosby went through the same motions: asking about the song, talking about the trip and looking for Vitale to react as if he was hearing the story for the first time.

They went on to win again.

That lasted for 16 games. Until finally, the Penguins lost and Crosby approached Vitale to let him know the repetition would be over.

“What a great run we had,” Crosby reportedly told him.

What a freak! Check out the full story down here:
