By the time the Detroit Red Wings hit the ice tomorrow night against the Montreal Canadiens at Little Caesars Arena, hopefully they will have figured out how to make good on their spoken commitments to not find themselves immediately in a hole against their opposition.

But whether or not forward Robby Fabbri plans on playing remains to be resolved. Fabbri was able to hit the ice for the first time since Detroit's season-opening loss against the New Jersey Devils nearly one full month ago, and the rust from missing 11 games was evident. According to head coach Derek Lalonde, his status for tomorrow is up in the air. Should he be unable to play, look for Austin Czarnik to draw back into the bottom-six.

Meanwhile, goaltender James Reimer will be starting, as Ville Husso's struggles continue. Despite his acknowledgement to stop surrendering "freebies" to the opposition, the Rangers lit him up for five goals midway through the second period of last night's game at Madison Square Garden; a few of the tallies weren't going to be stopped by any goalie, while Vincent Trocheck's sharp-angle opening goal could easily be described as the aforementioned "freebie".
