Big update.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have not had a healthy blue line for quite some time now.
They're already without the services of Jake Muzzin, who is out of the lineup indefinitely because of a cervical spine injury. They were also without TJ Brodie, who recently was able to return to action earlier this month. However, their most recent significant setback was the loss of Morgan Rielly.
He was placed on Long Term Injured Reserve after he suffered a sprained MCL in a game against the New York Islanders on November 21. However, the good news is that his return is imminent.
According to head coach Sheldon Keefe, who was fined $25K by the NHL for abuse of the officials earlier today, Rielly will make his return to the lineup tomorrow night when the Leafs take on the Arizona Coyotes at the 5,000 seat Mullet Arena.
Rielly has appeared in 20 games this season, registering 16 assists and a -1 plus/minus rating.
