Dallas Stars suffer massive blow at the worst possible time!
This is a big-time loss for a team trying to make a playoff push!
For a team trying to make a late-season playoff push, this won't do them any favors.
The Dallas Stars have announced that defenseman Miro Heiskanen has been placed on Injured Reserve after having been diagnosed with mononucleosis. He'll be out of the Stars lineup indefinitely.
Heiskanen, who was taken by the Stars with the 3rd overall selection in the 2017 NHL Draft, has scored four goals while adding 25 assists in 52 games this season. He's in the first year of a massive eight year, $67.6 million contract.
The Stars currently occupy the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference with 67 points, one spot ahead of the Edmonton Oilers with 66 points.
