With absolutely no sports on television other than classic games sports fans are getting desperate. ESPN and TSN have both started airing marble racing and sports betters are now taking bets against the weather. In other words, it’s getting pretty rough…

Leave it to eccentric UFC President Dana White to deliver some intriguing news for sports fans though. According to White himself, he’s in the process of “securing” a private island to play host to an international mixed martial arts (MMA) tournament.

The card is tentatively scheduled for Sat, April 18th and it actually features some pretty great fights.

White went on to say that every person involved in the fights, from production and administration staff to fighters, will be screened thoroughly by a medical team before they will be allowed into the venue. White says that health and safety is the highest priority in running this event.

Unfortunately, UFC Light Heavyweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who was initially scheduled to fight Tony Ferguson at the event, will not attend as he's in lockdown quarantine in his native Russia.
