Danny Smith lays a monstrous hit on opponent, Will Smith fights him in retaliation but gets taken out easily

One of the biggest instigators of a fight is a vicious hit to a teammate. There is often someone on the ice ready to drop the gloves instantly to take out the guy who just took out their teammate - or at the very least a huge line-wide scrum will ensue.

In the case of this particular incident between the Peoria Rivermen and the Huntsville Havoc in the SPHL, a certain Danny Smith takes out his opponent with a crushing hit, and Will Smith (not the actor, in case you hadn't figured it out yet) comes to his teammate's defense.

Only, instead of exacting his revenge, he got taken down to the ice nearly instantly.

At least he tried.
