The Minnesota Wild learned their lesson, after taking another 2-0 lead against the Montreal Canadiens, they were able to get away with the win.
After blowing an early 2-0 lead against the Dallas Stars, the Wild did everything right last night to shut down the Canadiens' offense. Goaltender Darcy Kuemper had a good night, stopping multiple dangerous chances by Montreal's snipers, especially a couple of great saves on Max Pacioretty.
Jason Pominville opened the scoring when he snapped a rebound him fro his 5th of the campaign, midway through the first period. Charlie Coyle added to the Wild's lead with a gorgeous individual effort to give Minnesota a 2 goal lead.
Unfortunately for Kuemper, Daniel Carr scored for Montreal, breaking Minnesota's goaltender's shutout effort.
Kuemper's play this season has been nothing less than stellar with a .929 save percentage, 2.13 goals against average and a 4-04 record.
