The Detroit Red Wings' season is over, and now the team is looking towards the future, but they have one major roadblock hampering whatever decision they will make over the summer, and it doesn't sound like they will have an answer anytime soon.

For whatever reason long time Red Wing Pavel Datsyuk has refused to commit to what he will do next season, despite the fact that he stated earlier this year that he intended to return home to Russia, retiring from the National Hockey League with just one year left on his current contract.

Datsyuk was asked again on Monday what he was going to do with his future, and again he avoided answering the question, although this time he did state that he would wait until after playing in the World Championship before announcing his decision, perhaps before even making it.

This leaves the Red Wings in the difficult position of not knowing where a large portion of the salary cap space will be used next season, on the expiring contract of a retired player, or on the player himself should he return.
