The Edmonton Oilers will be without the services of one of their veteran defensemen for the next little while.
On Sunday Oilers head coach Dave Tippett provided an update on injured blue liner Devin Shore, and the news was not good. According to Tippett, Shore will miss the next 4 to 6 weeks with what was originally reported as a lower body injury. The Oilers head coach did not provide any additional details regarding the nature of Shore's injury.
Shore suffered the injury during the Oilers exciting Friday night clash against the New York Rangers, the 27 year old defenseman would leave that contest and did not return.
Shore had appeared in 8 games for the Oilers prior to being inured, picking up 1 goal and 1 assists for 2 points. He has 4 penalty minutes on the season and currently boasts a plus minus rating of -3.
