Boston Bruins sniper David Pastrnak is headed to south Florida for the 2023 NHL All Star Game in what is certainly a well deserved honor for the high scoring winger.

“Fun event, fun weekend, and obviously looking forward to it, and obviously excited,” Pastrnak explained after his team's 3-1 victory over their Original 6 rival New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

“I’ll try. There’s plenty of kids and plenty of skill these days, so I’m going to try my best,” Pastrnak said of the Skills Competition portion of the event.

He'll be joining fellow teammate Linus Ullmark as well as head coach Jim Montgomery at the event; Montgomery will be coaching the Atlantic Division squad. They were both selected earlier this month.

"It’s great, obviously, to have another teammate there," Pastrnak said. "It’s gonna be more special when you have a teammate to share it with."

Of course, the news that Bruins fans really want to hear is whether or not there's been any progress made on a potential major new deal for Pastrnak that would lock him up with Boston for the extended future.

There is reportedly no update in terms of an upcoming new deal, though speculation remains rampant that he could earn potentially the highest salary in League history.
