David Pastrnak gets a gross surprise before the Winter Classic.

Nasty.

The National Hockey League is set to play host to the 2023 Winter Classic which will be held on Monday at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. The game will feature a clash between two historic NHL franchises with the hometown Boston Bruins taking on the Pittsburgh Penguins, but with all the hype surrounding this event this won't be your typical NHL game.

We got perhaps our first taste, pun intended, of that on Sunday when Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak was the recipient of what has to be one of the most bizarre gifts in the history of the sport of hockey. Pastrnak arrived at Fenway Park and was presented with a statue of himself, something that sounds like it should be a pretty awesome gift.

This was no ordinary statue though and it also paid tribute to Pastrnak's nickname "Pasta" by being made entirely out of spaghetti and it was kind of gross to be honest.

The Bruins forward, somewhat understandably, didn't seem to know what to make of the statue at first as he stared down at it in disbelief. Eventually though he did actually pick up the spaghetti statue and even admitted that spaghetti was among his favorite meals which made it an even more fitting tribute.

I can't imagine what he plans to do with this thing though.
