The man affectionately known to fans and pundits alike as "Pasta" has certainly been been serving up some steaming portions of amazing hockey play this season, and he's being recognized for his efforts by the National Hockey League.

Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak, fresh off a hat trick against the Anaheim Ducks to give him seven goals in his last four games, has been named the NHL's 1st star of the week for the week ending on January 8.

Pastrnak is now within striking distance of Edmonton Oilers superstar captain Connor McDavid for the NHL lead in goals scored, and also leads the Bruins in scoring with 58 total points. As of right now, his torrid pace has him on track to light the lamp a whopping 66 times.

And needless to say, Pastrnak still loves scoring.

“It will never get old. You’re scoring goals in the best league in the world. It’s not easy,” Pastrnak explained after his hat trick against the Ducks. “I will never take it for granted. It’s my job to score goals. It still makes you happy.”

Should Pastrnak ultimately go the distance and eclipse the 60 goal mark, he would be the first Bruins player to do so since Cam Neely in 1994. Additionally, should he reach his current projected pace of 119 points, it would be the most since Adam Oates hitting 142 in 1993.
