David Savard shares details on Martin St. Louis' absence.
The Montreal Canadiens defenseman may have let something slip during an interview on Saturday night.
The Montreal Canadiens shared some shocking news on Saturday evening when it was announced that head coach Martin St. Louis would be taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team for family reasons.
As reported earlier, assistant coach Trevor Letowski is stepping in for St. Louis in his absence.
The Canadiens did not share any additional details with the public, but on Saturday night Montreal Canadiens defenseman David Savard revealed some additional details about St. Louis absence from the team during a French language interview with Renaud Lavoie. Savard revealed that the reason for St. Louis absence concerns one of his sons, when he stated that the team was trying to win the game for St. Louis' son.
"We're going to try and get a win for his son," said Savard to Lavoie in French.
St. Louis has three sons, Ryan aged 20, Lucas aged 18, and Mason aged 16, all three of whom are young hockey players. Of course no one will blame a father for being there for his child in a time of need, and I can only hope that St. Louis and his children are all going to be ok.
I would ask that you keep Martin St. Louis and the rest of the St. Louis in your thoughts this evening.
