Things heated up quickly in the preseason between Calgary and Seattle and it led to this.
The 2025-26 season is right around the corner and it’s easy to tell fans and especially players are eager to get going. On Monday night, there was a preseason game between the Calgary Flames and Seattle Kraken and let’s just say it is clear that players are ready for the real deal.
Or maybe a tad too much.
Caught on the hot mic of one of the referees near the penalty box in the second period was Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn, who was incensed after he was forced out of the game for repairs when he was cross-checked in the face by Flames forward Martin Pospisil.
In front of his team’s net, Dunn was working out at boxing out Pospisil when the Flames’ center brutally shoved his stick in his face, leading to a penalty. The altercation between the two resulted in a roughing minor for Dunn and an additional cross-checking penalty for Pospisil.
But when he was sitting in the box, Dunn got close to him, and the official’s microphone, and threatened Pospisil, telling him:
“One f**king time. I will f**king murder you”
Following the game, Kraken head coach Lane Lambert was unable to provide an update, though now Dunn is listed as day to day.
And perhaps, he’s also been told to be careful with his words on the ice, especially when he can be heard around the world.
