Defenseman Dennis Cholowski claimed off waivers

This just in according to Chris Johnston of TSN, the Washington Capitals have claimed defenseman Dennis Cholowski off of waivers from the Seattle Kraken.

The 23 year old Langley, BC native was drafted by the Kraken from the Detroit Red Wings in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft and was originally drafted by the Red Wings in the 1st round (20th overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. 

He never suited up for a regular season game with the Kraken, but he has 10 goals and 27 points in 104 games with the Red Wings. It's expected that he'll join the Capitals as a 6th or 7th defenseman.
