Defenseman likely to be traded as team struggles for cap space.

It sounds like cap issues may force a trade.

ESPN insider Pierre Lebrun made some very strong statements this evening when discussing the restricted free agent situation the Anaheim Ducks are currently facing, specifically as it relates to both defenseman Hampus Lindholm and center Rickard Rakell.

Lebrun believes that one both men are signed the Ducks will be left scrambling to make a trade for "budgetary reasons" and obviously as a result that means one of Anaheim's players in on the way out. Again in this regard Lebrun made a very strong statement, adding that he believes defenseman "Cam Fowler is the most likely to get traded at some point."

There were rumors that Fowler would be dealt earlier this summer, so this rumor from Lebrun makes a great deal of sense, it could also mean a great opportunity for teams that have been desperate for help on the blue line.
