Derek Lalonde confirms Dylan Larkin has been injured.
The captain of the Detroit Red Wings has been injured and will miss significant time.
The Detroit Red Wings have been hit with some bad news just before the National Hockey League's trade deadline.
According to comments from Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde on Monday, Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin will miss at least the next two weeks of action after suffering a "lower-body injury."
According to Lalonde, Larkin suffered the injury against the Florida Panthers but did not share any additional details regarding the nature of the injury.
Lalonde added that the team currently doesn't have any plans to call up reinforcements in lieu of Larkin's absence, and has slotted forward Joe Veleno between Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane for the timing being.
