The good news is that the Detroit Red Wings were able to rebound from their disappointing start to their western road swing with a much-needed victory over the Vegas Golden Knights last night at T-Mobile Arena in Sin City. Goals from Joe Veleno, Lucas Raymond and Dominik Kubalik powered Detroit's offense, while goaltender Ville Husso performed well with 33 saves.

The bad news is that they experienced yet another injury scare, as forward Tyler Bertuzzi was pulled from the game before the start of the second period after experiencing what the team described as nagging lower body injury. Fans will remember that Bertuzzi has already missed nearly three months worth of playing time this season after breaking not one but both of his hands in separate shot blocking incidents.

It certainly would be the last thing that this Red Wings team, who is trying to make a run at one of the last Wild Card postseason spots, would need in losing a top player to injury yet again. however, the good news is that Bertuzzi's ailment doesn't appear to be of a serious nature.

"One of those tweaks, the lower-body, we thought it was in everybody's best interest (to take Bertuzzi out)," head coach Derek Lalonde said in the dressing room afterward. "You could feel it creeping into his game in the second period. The trainer pulled him for the third.

"Our guys did a pretty good job with 11 forwards and we managed our third period much better than we did the other night."

The Red Wings will return home later today from Vegas and get set to face the Philadelphia Flyers at home at Little Caesars Arena on Saturday night.
