The Nashville Predators were just forced to announce some devastating news on Wednesday, confirming that defenseman Luke Schenn will miss 4-6 weeks with a lower-body injury.
On Tuesday in a blowout loss to the Edmonton Oilers, the Predators skated for the third straight game without Schenn. On opening night last week against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the former Toronto Maple Leafs blue liner posted four hits and one blocked shot in 15:11 of ice time before he left with the injury. Dante Fabbro has since entered the Preds’ lineup in replacement for Schenn.
The veteran defenseman signed a three-year contract with the Predators, worth a total of $8.25 million and carries a cap hit of $2.75 million. It marked a significant raise for the blue liner, who now sits on the shelf for the next month or more…
What an unfortunate start to the season for poor Schenn...
