The New Jersey Devils were clearly hoping to make a push for the post season but this injury may drastically alter their plans prior to the deadline,

On Friday Devils head coach John Hynes confirmed that the Devils had underestimated the severity of the injury to forward Mike Cammalleri, something that was only compounded by the fact that according to Devils reporter Rich Chere Cammalleri also suffered a setback this week.

This is no minor setback either, as Hynes confirmed with Chere today that the setback was so severe there is now a very real possibility that Cammalleri will not play for the remainder of the NHL season.

According to Hynes Cammalleri is not even close to returning.
