The Vegas Golden Knights put the finishing touches on their first ever Stanley Cup championship earlier this year in what was just their 6th season of existence since entering the NHL as an expansion franchise ahead of the 2017-18 season.

And winning the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP was none other than Jonathan Marchessault, who was one of the original "misfits" that remained on the roster from that incredible first year that saw them defy all reasonable expectations and advance to the Stanley Cup Final.

While it turns out that players were asked to wear the sweater of either Montreal or Boston, it certainly now has folks thinking about if the reigning playoff MVP has aspirations to return home and suit up for the Habs after his current contract is done.
