One of the most underrated signings this summer in the National Hockey League was Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman bringing aboard 2022 Stanley Cup champion J.T. Compher from the Colorado Avalanche.
In 23 games played so far for Compher, he's tallied six goals with 13 assists and is on pace for an impressive 68 points, which would easily top his previous career high of 52 points. But during this morning's skate at Little Caesars Arena, Compher was not on the ice.
Right now, no explanation has been given for the reason behind his absence, and his status for tomorrow's game against the Buffalo Sabres has not been confirmed.
UPDATE: Thankfully, it appears as though Compher's absence at today's practice was due to routine maintenance, and that he's expected to play tomorrow.
