The good news for the Detroit Red Wings is that they were able to defeat the Buffalo Sabres in yesterday's game at Little Caesars Arena, vaulting them back into a postseason spot for the time being with a monumental game coming up tomorrow against the visiting Washington Capitals.
The bad news is that forward Michael Rasmussen has been out of the lineup after suffering an injury, and that he's not expected to be available to play tomorrow. According to head coach Derek Lalonde, he's currently considered in the "day to day" phase.
"Still in that 'day-to-day' range," Lalonde said. "He's dealing with an upper body. Physically, lower body energy, he's ripping and ready to go. It's just a matter of being fully ready with that upper body."
Rasmussen has scored 13 goals with 20 assists this season, reaching a career high in points with 33. He's also set to start a new multi-year contract extension next season./
