The Buffalo Sabres have scored the strangest goal of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Sabres forward Tage Thompson dumped a puck into the Montreal zone from center ice, but the puck took a weird bounce off the boards and jetted directly off of Habs goaltender Jakub Dobes and into the net.

Check it out:

Look, I've seen weird deflections and goals from center ice before... but I'm not sure I've EVER seen a goal quite like this!

Read below for our earlier report on a controversial goal/no-goal call from the 1st period.

We've got a controversial call early in Game 4 between the Montreal Canadiens and Buffalo Sabres.

With the Sabres sitting on an early 1-0 lead, Canadiens goaltender Jakub Dobes appeared to make a glove save on Sabres forward Jack Quinn.

Or... did he?

Dobes clearly made the save, but after review the officials determined that Dobes' glove (and the puck) completely crossed the goal line.

The call? Good goal.

Check it out:

But, that's not where the drama ended.

Habs head coach Martin St. Louis immediately challenged the goal for goaltender interference.

And guess what?

No goal!

We play on!

In the end we waited over 10 minutes to make a ruling... enough with this over the top video review. Drop the puck!
